4/2/2019, Phillies vs Nats, Nats lose 8-2

Scherzer pitching to Bryce Harper This was a Tuesday game, first of a two-day visit to DC from the Phillies. It was cold and there was a 45 minute delay in the start of the game. Went with Ksenia, had purchased tickets in section 305. There were many loud Phillies fans, but in large blocks mostly near right field (and their new right field guy) and not near us. I attended the next day's day game and the Phillie fan presence was much less noticeable. It remains to be seen if busloads of Phillie fans are going to come to future Phillie visits. The Mets 7th Line Army people in the past were more organized in their chanting than these Phillie fans, but they were still annoying. "We got Harper" is an odd thing to chant, I think. Scherzer was as usual very good, but then the Phillies starter was too. It seemed like the Nats fans were cheering their pitcher while the Phillies fans were only interested in hitting prowess, or booing the Nats (in effect). The Nats performance was sufficiently lethargic and the likelihood of a comeback so remote that when added to the cold and wet, we left at before the top of the ninth inning.
