No rain delay, but some of the game was played while rain fell at various points
7:05 start on a Friday. Summary statement: Nats looked good - or at least OK - until they didn't.
First time Linda and I attended a game together this year and sat in our "season plan holder" pair of tickets. These seats are in the last row (row J) of section 315, somewhat off to the right behind home plate. (The aisle between sections 313 and 314 is directly behind home plate.) From where we are we can see the strike zone reasonably well, albeit at some distance. There is no going up and down stairs with these seats, which is nice. We have had season plan tickets in sections 305, 316, and 309, and I like these the best.
The game was played at a good pace until Nats relievers came in to do their work, then the "pace of game" declined along with some of the performance. It was unfortunate to see the starter Corbin pitch well but then get nothing for the effort.
It was Juan Soto bobblehead but as is usual with bobblehead days, the player honored didn't have a particularly noteworthy outing. Oh well. Opposing pitchers have figured out a workable way to pitch to Soto for now; he will have to compensate.
